The need for Christ-centered, evangelistic marriage preparation is absolutely essential in our culture.  That is why the Office of Marriage and Family Life is hosting an updated FOCCUS facilitators training for all priests, deacons and married couples who are responding to the call to walk with the engaged couples of our Archdiocese as they prepare for the beautiful sacrament of marriage. We have invited a staff member from the FOCCUS headquarters to lead a day-long workshop to help us better understand how to administer this effective tool and reach a new generation of couples.

We also strongly encourage those current FOCCUS facilitator couples as well as parish staff members who work with engaged couples to join us for the day to be refreshed in best practices. The culture of marriage has changed rapidly in recent years, and the FOCCUS inventory has been updated several times to accommodate the needs of our current engaged couples. Therefore, an updated training will be very helpful for current facilitator couples as well.

La necesidad de una preparación matrimonial evangelizadora y centrada en Cristo es absolutamente esencial en nuestra cultura. Por esa razón la Oficina para la Vida Matrimonial y Familiar ofrecerá un entrenamiento para facilitadores de FOCCUS actualizado a todos los sacerdotes, diáconos, y parejas casadas que estén respondiendo al llamado de caminar junto con las parejas comprometidas de nuestra arquidiócesis en su preparación para recibir el bello sacramento del matrimonio. Hemos invitado a un miembro del personal de la oficina central de FOCCUS para ofrecer un taller de un día y nos ayude a comprender cómo usar mejor esta herramienta efectiva y así llegar a una nueva generación de parejas. 

También alentamos encarecidamente a las parejas facilitadoras de FOCCUS actuales, así como los miembros del personal parroquial que trabajen con parejas comprometidas a participar en este día para refrescar y obtener mejores prácticas.  La cultura del matrimonio ha cambiado rápidamente en recientes años, y el inventario de FOCCUS se ha renovado varias veces para responder a las necesidades de las parejas comprometidas en la actualidad. Por lo tanto, este entrenamiento actualizado será de mucho provecho también para los facilitadores de las parejas.
