Get Ready for the new RCIA/OCIA Translation

As you may know, the USCCB and the Vatican have recently approved an updated translation to the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (formerly known as "RCIA"). The new translation can be implemented beginning this Advent, with mandatory implementation by Lent 2025. This presents a great opportunity for parishes to be prepare for these changes as well as revisit the principles of effective catechumenal formation.

During this workshop, we will explain the vision of Christian Initiation of Adults, the necessary steps of the formation process, which rites apply to which people, Canon Law issues related to initiation, as how to build an effective formation team and process at your parish.

We are requesting at least one representative from each parish to attend this workshop. Anyone who is involved in the initiation process (priests, deacons, parish directors, pastoral staff, team members) will find value in this afternoon and are encouraged to attend. 

This workshop is a collaborative effort between the Chancery, Office for Worship, and the Office of Evangelization & Catechesis. There is no cost to attend.
